New artist to our library Bishop Lamont dropped off a new project “The Preformation” at the very end of 2013 and although I didn’t think the entire tape was for everybody the last track on the tape really stood out to me. The first thing I noticed about this joint that stands out is that the instrumental almost sounds as playful as it does ominous. The chorus then comes in with gusto and the pieces begin to fall into place. This isn’t a turn up track, a smoking song, or anything that your probably used to but this is fight music (sorry ladies this may not be your song). Bishop fills his verses with brutal imagery, manic metaphors, and plenty of punch lines that come together for some of the toughest bars ya’ll have heard in a minute. Make sure to watch out for Lamont’s debut album “The Reformation” set to drop sometime in 2014, and click the link to the full project if this one song isn’t enough for you. Enjoy.
