From Palestine to Canada, Belly has built a career for himself in Ontraio that’s yet to receive proper recognition in the States. Up For Days, however, is built to change that trend. With features from several notorious artists — The Weeknd, French Montana, & Travi$ Scott — it’s no wonder why this tape has been taking over the airwaves these past few weeks. As an affiliate of the label XO, branding is a priority, and in Belly’s own words, this project isn’t just another chapter in his career “it’s a completely new book”. Fat bass, ambient vibes, and hard-hitting quality production is consistent throughout the entire mixtape. Although every track is in the hip-hop realm, versatility is still a prominent characteristic as he flexes his ability to sing, rap, and write lyrics that touch on a wide spectrum of topics. If you’re looking for some highlights, my favorites were Might Not (feat. The Weeknd), Masion, and Who Am I. This is an artist you need to keep your eye on; not only is he talented, but he’s also extremely connected and motivated to leave his mark on the industry. He’s not going away anytime soon, so cop the free download, follow him on soundcloud and twitter, and bump this tape while it’s still hot.

You know when you hear that HAAAAAAN French Montana is about to murder a fat ass beat. G gave us the jump on this track when we interviewed him and Marty Grimes  in Berlin, and even though it didn’t make his album we knew it would still go off harder than anything he’s ever dropped before. With production from Ty Fyffe, a live hook from Yung Fliiboy, and two of the most supercilious verses you’ll ever hear. I’ll keep it short, this song can speak for itself.

I realize this probably won’t be anybody’s favorite song of the year, or remix for that matter, but I just felt like the ladies could move it to this song all night. The beat slows down, speeds up, drops off, stops, etc. It’s all over the place, just like these girl’s asses when they start twerking. Coincidence? I think not. The features on this track are fairly familiar names and everyone literally does their own thing. Ne-Yo and Jeremih are bound to drop panties with their incredible vocals coming in after some dope verses from Busta Rhymes, T.I., and French Montana. Busta recruits Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel to give the track that Rastafarian feel and even uses a Jamaican accent on his verse which I actually really enjoyed. Anyway, check it out.

New Jet City – Curren$y (Mixtape)

Geez, this is going to be blasting in the whip for a good couple of weeks. Just look at who goes in on this tape, Trinidad, Juicy, Wiz, French Montana, Jadakiss, Rick Ross.. the list goes on. Give this tape a listen. Although Curren$y seems to have lost a bit of his dope lyricism on this tape, he brings it back by flowing over some really ill beats. Enjoy.

Detroit – Big Sean (Mixtape)

It’s been a year since Big Sean’s last album ‘Finally Famous’, and over 2 years since his last Mixtape… that said, it’s nice to have a fresh batch of songs from the Kanye-sponsored rapper. Hopefully the tape doesn’t disappoint you, it was a little rough in my point of view, but expectations are high now that he’s with G.O.O.D. music.. I was hoping for some more anthems like ‘My Last’ and ‘Ass’ but he went with a different route, featuring small time artists like King Chip, Kendrick Lamar, & French Montana, which made this more of a heavy-rap heavy-beat ridden album. Check it out though, you’re bound to find some tracks you’ll like. I recommend Woke Up, Higher, and Mula. Be easy everyone.
