GoldLink is still on his coast to coast tour, but if you remember right he dropped this original track for free just before his departure. Although he personally hasn’t been able to release much music while on the road, producers have had a field day remixing his latest song. Of every rendition I’ve heard however, this relatively small producer from Minneapolis did it the best. Heavy, and I mean HEAVY, bass is the defining factor of his remix, although the dulcet melodies and uplifting synth patterns play an equally important role. Give it a listen, sway to the beat, and be sure to show su na some love on soundcloud.

Dance On Me – GoldLink

GoldLink just kicked off his international tour yesterday, but before he did so he decided to release a fresh-out-the-oven track for fans to cop for free. What initially sounded like an easy-riding slow jam quickly picked up into a fast paced sample heavy banger with production from Milo Mills. GoldLink’s flows are perfectly refined as he sets a care free tone to the track within the first few bars of his verse, and he has no trouble changing up the pace to take an more somber R&B tone as the track transitions its tempo. This summer has been full of anthems so far, and GoldLink seems to have a perfect understanding of what people want to listen to while they’re letting go, taking pulls out of the bottle, and forgetting about their ex-lovers. Enjoy, cop the free download, follow GL on twitter on soundcloud, and check back for footage we got of him on the first leg of his tour in Cambridge.

This is that future bass. This project is what progressive music is all about. Artist collective Soulection partnered with clothing brand Stussy to put together a compilation that reflects the cultures of both companies and “brings visibility to the future sound.” Twenty different artists are showcased on this compilation; synths, a little reggae-dub, ambient, bass, and hip-hop are just some of the flavors you’ll get a taste of. While all the artists have their own unique style, they each possess an ultra chill ambient vibe to give the compilation the cohesive flow that makes it so pleasing to listen to. Perfect for wake ‘n bake, summertime cruisin, and relaxation. On the mix you’ll find Red Bull Music Academy grad Ta-ku, Mr. Carmack, Jarreau Vandal (who did an ultra jazzy remix of G-Eazy’s Let’s Get Lost), Sango, GoldLink, along with even more underground gems that you may not have heard of before. Hop on that future bass wave and coast. You can download the compilation for free from Bandcamp or donate a few dollars if you’re feeling generous.
