Oxymoron has to be one of the best rap albums of the year, and this hook is absolute gold. Grandtheft made this sick d&b heavy club remix, and despite the fact that he doesn’t sample any of the verses, the crossfading hook into a hypnotizing drop keeps you nodding from start to finish. Grandtheft is a producer/DJ/Mad Decent Rep, and actually made this track to fill a void in his DJ set, which ended up being so popular he released it for free. Give it a listen, if you haven’t heard about the Mad Decent Block Party yet you should check to see if they’re coming to your city; great line up and tickets don’t cost much.

Download 0 to 100 - Drake (Grandtheft Bootleg)

Had to press play when I saw another Drizzy remix on my radar. Although the original track might be a little to slow to play at the club, Grandtheft’s 0 to 100 Bootleg is perfect for DJs looking to work a little trapped out Drake into their sets. The drop at 0:57 is pretty twerk-heavy and sure to get all the bass-heads rolling. If you dig this jam, throw it a Heart on HypeM to get this shit to the top of the charts. Keep your eyes out for his remix with Diplo of Calvin Harris’s Summer.

Another song about twerking? I somehow managed to find another one for all you ratchets out there. Grandtheft’s been using this track in some of his sets over the summer and has finally released it officially on soundcloud as a free download. Grandtheft’s “Twerk It” edit, originally by Busta Rhymes, still has its same flavor, but there are a few subtle differences.┬áMost trap music makes use of deep bass-heavy horns, but Grandtheft decides to use higher-pitched trumpets as the driving force of the chorus. Paired with that too-smooth water drip, which I can already predict will be copped by many other DJs, “Twerk It” turns out to be a slight rework that goes just as hard as you do.
