This is the most refined sound Jon Bellion has developed yet. As his third solo project, this artist has spent the last year and a half growing from a producer to a full-blown singer, songwriter, and rapper. The Definition describes Jon’s past, present, and future in a versatile 11-track mixtape. His lightweight vocals are the highlight of every track, but the self-produced instrumentals definitely add a uniqueness to his style that separates his sound from any competitors. Although he’s signed to a record label, Visionary Music Group has been known to give artists free reign over the development and direction of their music, which explains why his music is overflowing with authenticity. Cop the free download and show Jon some love on twitter and soundcloud if you like what you hear.

VMG is probably the most promising record label out there right now, and in celebration of Young Sinatra’s 24th birthday he brought his crew in for a freestyle sesssion. With 6ix on the beat and these four MC’s on the mic, they already had a recipe for success. The newest addition QuESt kicks things off, delivering back to back praise worthy lyrics faster than you can comprehend them, going out on “VMG, only competition we see is TDE”  (TDE = Top Dog Entertainment, Kendrick/Ab Soul’s label). Castro and Jon Bellion hop on the oriental beat next, slowing the pace a bit but still providing off-the-dome-gold before handing it off to the birthday boy. He was clearly feelin the vibe of this track, as he brings things home and drops some info about his debut album (dropping this year) and a soon to be announced tour (also this year). If you want the low down on what everyone’s favorite white rapper is doing in LA, check out the latest installment of Just Another Day, you might catch a sneak peak of the new album on there too.
