Cleveland basketball is back in season, and the Cavaliers are excited to kick off their first game with the return of their previously injured Point Guard: Kyrie Irving. MGK and Lil Cray are both notorious C-Town rappers, and their dedication to their city includes the city’s best sport franchise. A fat bass line rides across the arpeggiated piano chords as Lil Cray and MGK lay down two hard-hitting verses about running their city, “balling on you bitches” like Kyrie Irving, and pulling dimes everywhere they go. Check it out, cop the free DL if you like what you hear, and be sure to show Machine Gun Kelly some love on Soundcloud and Twitter.

Against The World – Machine Gun Kelly

Download Against The World - Machine Gun Kelly

Machine Gun Kelly has been known throughout his career to be a of messiah of the loners, the voice of the misfits, and a leader among rebels. With this new release he captures the essence of this in talking about going “Against The World”. Slim Gudz engineered the beat, which starts off as this creeping/rolling piano and a eerie sample of Sia’s “Breathe Me” which is raised a few octaves and sped up a tad. Then at about 1:08 an army of violins, and this monstrous vibrating bass fall over the intro right into MGK’s first verse. This songs all about clawing your way to the top against all odds, and never losing faith in yourself even if you’re neck deep in a sea of hatred. As per usual Kellz kills a track he gets passionate about, and then gives it away to his beloved fans free of charge. Hit the play button, cop the free download, and show some love to MGK on soundcloud/twitter if you haven’t hopped on that train yet.

Wanna Ball – Machine Gun Kelly

Download Wanna Ball - Machine Gun Kelly

The last time we heard from MGK, it was a widely-popular remix to the already radio-famous song, “Sail”, by AWOLNation. Here, MGK follows this success with another anthem for his faithful to revel in – “Wanna Ball.” Featuring an initially deceptive disciplined, half-time beat, and an assemblage of light, textural melodies, the music remains non-intrusive enough to allow Kelly the spotlight as he powerfully sympathizes with his audience through personal discourse

“And if you never had a penny don’t you wanna ball? Used to fall asleep with the stomach empty now don’t you wanna ball? Tattoo’s like Makaveli the shit that make you wanna ball. And Imma die when I’m ready but I’m livin’ so I want it all.”

With an inspirational message from a former member of the “lower class” on top of a spine chilling instrumental from Pro Logic, this track will make a great addition to anybody’s music library. Enjoy the free release courtesy of MGK, check out his No Class Tour dates if you wanna catch a good show in a city near you, and hit him with a follow on twitter if you haven’t already.

Ohio’s very own MGK turns the radio famous Sail by Awolnation into a flat-out dirty rap anthem. The production is by far the best part of the song; the reverbing electo-synth, snare that slaps harder than Sharkeisha, and a bass line that’s sure to turn some heads. I was expecting Kelly to drop a few fast paced bars on a beat this fat, but he keeps a steady tempo and just focuses on spitting some untouchable lyricism. The visuals are another story entirely; from the second the video starts you know you’re going to enjoy the next 3 minutes of your life. It’s obvious that they put a ton of work into choreographing this shit, not to mention that the video was all done in less than 10 shots; meaning that everything had to go right or they’d start from scratch. Hopefully you dig it as much as we did, Lace the fuck up and enjoy yet another free download from Machine Gun Kells.

Like Whoa – Ray Jr, Tezo, Machine Gun Kelly, & Dub-O

Download Like Woah - Ray Jr, Tezo, MGK, & Dub-O

Ray Jr released Elected 2 late last year and since then the EST family has been relatively quiet since then with the exception of MGK’s Lace Up album which was released around the same time. Ray decides to lead his EST brothers in a new street release from these Cleveland wild boys which was actually officially released by DJ Steph Floss. The beat came courtesy of Da Kitchen, and this fast-paced banger appears to be right up EST’s alley as MGK became known for his fast and versatile lyricism. Although not all the lyricism is on point and at times even off beat don’t let a few bad bars hold you back, because there’s definitely enough redeeming qualities about this track to make up for it. Hit that play button one time and see if you’re feeling the newest cut from the EST family.

Kells has proven once again that he is easily one of the most humble artists in the game, releasing his much anticipated album “Black Flag” FO’ FREE. I’ve been keeping up with Kells since “100 Words and Running” dropped in 2010, but Black Flag is by far the best collective work the young rapper from Cleveland has released to date. If your a fan of MGK your sure to have noticed him growing into his own, and finding his niche in the game. Well this release is physical proof that he has matured, and that the quality of his work will only improve. The mixtape has the perfect mixture of slow, soulful tracks that really let you into the mind of MGK (Raise the Flag, Home Soon) and classic Kell’s tracks that deliver that rapid fire, machine gun like flow that first helped earn him his spot in the game (Breaking News, Skate Cans). Tracks on this mixtape that must be heard? It’s highly recommend you listen to the tape the whole way through, but if your just looking to throw a couple new tracks on your Ipod before you hit the door listen to: Baddest, Home Soon, 50 feat French Montana, and my personal favorite Black Tuxedo.
