More good music from the InviteOnly crew, this time with a new artist taking the spotlight; Emilio Paredes. The relaxed anthem-style beat from Steezefield is great, this track had a recipe for success even before the talented lyricists jumped in. That being said, all the rappers on this track deliver thoughtful verses; contemplating lost lovers, reflecting on recent success while still keeping their special someone in the back of their mind. The production, the irresistible hook, and the shear talent of these three artists all play into making a perfect end-of-summer melody. You remember your first time. Whether it’s good or bad, whether it was your first love or your first one night stand, it’s something that we all think about from time to time. Alex takes a soothing approach when reflecting on his first; rainfall and a thunderstorm in the background, birds cawing and chirping in the distance, and an inaudible voice sampled in time with bass kicks and snare claps. He describes their relationship and how euphoric everything was before they went their separate ways, how losing her ended with him dropping out and pursuing his passion while she moved on without him. Mayo comes in with a more up beat 2nd verse, taking a different approach and instead talking about a dime he met on tour and that he wish he could’ve kept her. Both of them flow flawlessly over the Orikami produced beat, and by the end of the track you’ll probably be thinking about your first love too, and some of the regrets that coincide. Everything from Mayo lately has just been so fresh, the precision with which he delivers each lyric is as impeccable as the production from Mio Mills. The gist of the up-beat track is getting high and hooking up on tour, which isn’t exactly relatable, but makes for a catchy chorus. Whether you’re drinking, smoking, partying, or chilling, this track has the vibe you’re looking for. One thing we look for at UH is improvement in artists, and Mayo continues to impress me more and more with every sound he releases. If there’s any undiscovered artist you should keep watching, it’s this guy and his crew over at Invite Only. Spread the Mayo and give him a follow on twitter.

Mellow new jam from ya boi Mayo, an artist we haven’t seen on the site since 2012. Since then his style has developed into this classy jet-life style that makes you feel like drinking scotch by the pool; clever lyricism and crisp production just goes to prove how much he’s grown in the last 2 years. For those girls who just love to ball, or for the guys who’s budget they ball on, Mayo empathizes and let’s you know it’s worth it to see her in your bed the next morning. Enjoy the good vibes, spread the Mayo and show him some love on twitter.

After checking out this album, I had to share it. Some of the most killer beats I’ve heard in awhile, not to mention Mayo’s flows are pretty stellar. From mixes done himself, to renditions of Coldplay, he covers a whole stratosphere of genres, so you’re bound to find one you like. Give it a listen, and download the entire project here
