VMG is probably the most promising record label out there right now, and in celebration of Young Sinatra’s 24th birthday he brought his crew in for a freestyle sesssion. With 6ix on the beat and these four MC’s on the mic, they already had a recipe for success. The newest addition QuESt kicks things off, delivering back to back praise worthy lyrics faster than you can comprehend them, going out on “VMG, only competition we see is TDE”  (TDE = Top Dog Entertainment, Kendrick/Ab Soul’s label). Castro and Jon Bellion hop on the oriental beat next, slowing the pace a bit but still providing off-the-dome-gold before handing it off to the birthday boy. He was clearly feelin the vibe of this track, as he brings things home and drops some info about his debut album (dropping this year) and a soon to be announced tour (also this year). If you want the low down on what everyone’s favorite white rapper is doing in LA, check out the latest installment of Just Another Day, you might catch a sneak peak of the new album on there too.

Fuck You Mean – QuESt

January 15, 2014

You’re probably familiar with Logic and his label ‘Visionary Music Group’, but this signed artist isn’t one I’ve heard before. Right when the beat kicks in QuESt sets the pace with some impressive lyricism, literally as soon as I hit play I was feeling this new MC and his no-bullshit style. It gets better though, as soon as the beat drops off into the hook you start nodding your head and wondering how you ever could have slept on such talent. Listen to this track, it’s by far the best delivery and lyricism I’ve heard all day, and I’ve listened to a lot of music today..
