Some of our students might recall a few months ago when I introduced Toronto’s Raheem to the site with his anthem “No Drugs”, and earlier this month he dropped of his 16 track project Dying To Live Forever and it did not fail to impress. In an industry full of to many fake artists Raheem isn’t scared to be himself and you can definitely hear that in some of these tracks. The tape deals with multiple topics including heart break, remaining true to yourself, the road to success, partying (duh), & more. I think I like this emerging artist so much because his songs are so relate-able and I don’t think he was necessarily aiming for that effect. He’s just being honest. Production on this tape was handled by David Greene, Mr Carmack, Dutchboy, & Luxury just to name a few. There’s not really any bangers on this tape, but almost every beat is unique and captivating in it’s own way. Add some clever, fresh bars from our boy up North and we have a really solid tape all around. Tracks to spotlight on this tape: Downtown, Concrete, Party Til Tomorrow, Shoulda Known Better, & The Accomplishment.

Got a new artist to add to the University Hype library today, Toronto native Raheem drops this sick single off his upcoming mixtape “Dying To Live Forever” which is supposed to be released some time before the end of the year. This joint is a banger that our strictly bud and booze fans are gonna find themselves identifying with, but that doesn’t mean that the rest of ya’ll won’t appreciate it. For starters, the guys flow is on point and he effortlessly kills both his verses over a simple instrumental bound to shake some speakers provided by producer Dutchboy. Press play and show some love to the new kid out of Canada.
