Sex – St. Gabriel (The 1975 Cover)

Free Download | Sex - St. Gabriel (The 1975 Cover)

St. Gabriel, who y’all might remember from his cover of Trapeze Swinger we posted last month, is back today with a melancholy rendition of The 1975’s Sex. His indie folk vocals and the simplicity of his strumming makes the song feel so much more organic; you can hear every note, every lyric, every breath just as it should be. He might not sound anything like Matthew Healy, but Ricky’s southern accented vocals are just as ear-pleasing. Check it out and cop the free download if you like what you hear, and be sure to show him support by throwing him a follow on SC.

The 1975 - Chocolate

Free Download | Chocolate - The 1975 (Taylor Wise Remix)

You ever hear a song that just makes you feel good? Well this is one of those songs. Taylor Wise’s remix of Chocolate is really one of the best tracks I’ve heard all summer, and believe me, I have heard a lot of music. The way the vocals in the background are able to integrate with everything that is happening in the song is really something to admire about the New York producer’s work. I’ve been showing this song to all my friends, and everyone has said the same thing: it just makes you want to get up and do something, anything. It’s rare to come across these type of songs, so I thought that it would be unfair not to share the wealth with you guys. Be sure to cop the free download, but most importantly be sure to go show some serious love to Taylor Wise for this golden track on soundcloud & twitter. Spread the HYPE.

Drive – Travi$ Scott & James Fauntleroy (The 1975 Remix)

Download Drive - Travi$ Scott & James Fauntleroy (The 1975 Remix)

If you’ve been following our site for awhile, you probably remember Travi$ Scott‘s older project Owl Pharaoh. Well this single, Drive feat. James Fauntleroy, was one of the more experimental/questionable singles off the tape.. that is, until The 1975 remixed it yesterday. By sampling James Fauntleroy, they do some ridiculously involuted production that results in a smooth synth heavy EDM beat with detailed percussion setting the mellow tempo. Not only do they remake the entire beat, but they even combine Travis’s verses to omit the unorthodox arrangement and master his vocals to maintain the silky vibe. Take a drive and play this to chill your mood, and don’t forget to follow The 1975, Travi$, and James on twitter.
