Trap King – Adriana Gomez (Two Friends & INSTRUM Remix)

Hopefully you’re familiar with Fetty Wap’s Trap Queen by now; the song has been remixed by tons of producers and played by every radio station you could think of. That being said, I didn’t expect to enjoy yet another rendition of the hip-hop hit, but Adriana Gomez’s vocals combined with the Two Friends and INSTRUM’s insane house production turned out to be beautifully refreshing. The orgasmic saxophone solos ripping across the glossy percussion and multiple layers of synth pairs perfectly with Adriana’s sensual voice. Enjoy, get the free DL if you’re about it, and be sure to show Adriana Gomez, the Two Friends, and INSTRUM some love on Soundcloud.

Angels – Vicetone & Kat Nestel (Two Friends Remix)

I wasn’t sure about this track Matt & Eli sent me at first; the intro was extremely intense, the transitions seemed unusually abrupt, and the track seemed like it was going to be an orthodox house remix. Thankfully, I was too quick to judge — Angels turned out to be a perfect song choice for the duo to renovate, and despite its vigorous tone their remix is just as euphoric and uplifting as their past material. Definitely not something you want to dive in to while you’re kicking back, but throw this on your high BPM party playlist and you’ll see why the Two Friends are becoming so prominent in the electronic music scene. As always, cop the free download and be sure to show them some love on soundcloud and twitter. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out their previous material and the interview we did with them out in LA.

The Two Friends couldn’t have kicked off their summer better than this. Their remix of Alesso’s Cool is an effulgent house anthem that’s brimming with intricate synths, euphoric melodies, resounding piano, and uplifting percussion. The song epitomizes that just-got-out-of-school summer feeling, and the roller coaster of build-ups and drops are as colossal as ever. Matt and Eli both graduated college this year, if you watched our interview with them than you probably know that they’re dedicating their entire summer to consistently releasing amazing music, including some new original content. Cop the free download, be sure to follow them on soundcloud and twitter, and share the track if you like what you hear.

Big Bootie Mix Vol 7 – The Two Friends

April 11, 2015

Download Big Bootie Mix Vol 7 - The Two Friends

We’ve been sharing The Two Friends’ music with y’all since early 2013, and every Big Bootie Mix they drop seems to represent a new milestone they’ve hit in their career. As a testament to that, they recorded Big Bootie Mix #7 in the Dominican Republic, home to some of the biggest booties in the world while touring and linking with XTREME trips for an amazing Spring Break show. If you’re unfamiliar with their Big Bootie campaign, they’re basically hour long bootleg mixes set to some original electronic house production by Matt & Eli, two friends that have been making music together since 2011. I can’t even begin to tell you how diverse yet lucid this mix is, but the tracklist they released should give you an idea of what accapellas and original songs you can expect to hear. Honestly, we’ve been posting EDM tracks for awhile now, and I’ve still yet to meet artists who have as unique of a sound as Two Friends, their innovative tracks are a combination of punk-pop and new-wave electronic, but even their mixes are hyphy and distinctive. Cop the free download, check out all their other material we’ve posted, and be sure to show them some love via twitter and soundcloud to keep up with their releases and see when they’re coming to a city near you.

Long Way Home – The Two Friends & Breach The Summit

December 10, 2014

Download Long Way Home - The Two Friends & Breach The Summit

Nothing makes finals week more bearable than new free music from one of our favorite production duos. If you’re not familiar with The Two Friends you need to catch up, for the last year and a half we’ve been following the progression and development of their unique punk-electronic style. Guitar chords resonate off of Breach The Summit’s lucid vocals, which plays a part in constructing the smooth yet monumental drops into a sea of house-synth bliss. The song speaks for their distinct style perfectly, which I can only describe as Warped Tour meets Tomorrowland, yet the contrasts somehow flow together seamlessly. Give it a listen, and be sure to follow The Two Friends and Breach The Summit on twitter.

Sadness Disease – Urban Cone (The Two Friends Remix)

November 12, 2014

Download Sadness Disease - Urban Cone (The Two Friends Remix)

The Two Friends never cease to impress, since we started following them last year we’ve heard them develop their sound and release track after track of flawless yet unique house anthems. For the first time in awhile, the production duo decided to drop a remix, this time to Urban Cone’s strange, upbeat, and 80’s synth-heavy single Sadness Disease. The ambient atmosphere that envelops the first minute of the track is soon overcome by the subtle snare build up, until finally you’re thrown into an ocean of house synth. Although the remix doesn’t resemble the original in many aspects, they both reach the same ultimatum when answering the questions of how to cure sadness: insanely vibey music. As always, the download is on the friends, so just be sure to reciprocate the favor by following them on twitter and liking them on facebook.

Our Names In Lights – The Two Friends & Breach The Summit

It’s been too long since I’ve posted a track by The Two Friends, but after a few weeks of no new material we’ve finally been blessed with a brand new original track. It’s rare that I get to show my appreciation for other genres on the site, but there’s a special place in my heart for alternative and punk-rock music. Obviously their electronic production still rings clear, but the intense vocals from Breach The Summit flow into the effulgent strings ideally. This production duo has found an untapped market; melding their heavy house style to the emotion-ridden vocals of punk artists created a surprisingly equanimous sound. Your Song – The Two Friends & I Am Lightyear

Download Your Song - The Two Friends & I Am Lightyear

Normally when I’m posting The Two Friends people are expecting house synth with a drop that’ll blow your face off – but today we’re turning things down for a free acoustic rendition of their original mix with I Am Lightyear, who’s been on a few of their tracks (and I think is somehow acquainted with Ellie Goulding). Anyways, they keep things really mellow for us this time around; deep hall sounding Piano echoing against Lauren’s soul-wrenching vocals. Crazy how they seem to fill the void of electronic drums and layers on layers of synth with just a piano and a microphone, but the end result is an acoustic masterpiece. Show The Two Friends some love on twitter, check out all their other free material on the site, and let these two artists serenade your girlfriend for you.

Born To Die – Lana Del Rey (The Two Friends Remix)

March 3, 2014

Download Born To Die – Lana Del Rey (The Two Friends Remix)

Lana Del Rey has one of the most recognizable and impressionable female voices in the world,  and despite the heartbreaking lyricism our Two Friends turned the vibe of inevitable death into an ecstasy packed house anthem. The sharp piano melody builds up over military-style snare drums until you find yourself fist-pumping to Tomorrowland-worthy synth compilations. I’ve never been disappointed in The Two Friends’ production prowess; each track is another creative endeavor with heavy regard to detail. Flawless vocals over flawless production, nothing more you could ask for. Cop the free download in exchange for a like on facebook after the jump.
